English and Social Studies
Students take a four year sequence in English and Social Studies. In the first two years, students examine beliefs and choices in the global context. Additionally, they enrich their reading and writing proficiency through a fundamentals module in literacy. In the junior year, students explore the development of America and American identity. In the senior year, students challenge each other's understanding of economic and civics and deepen their understanding of expression. As part of the culmination of their experiences in high school, students take a management course to practice real-world skills in arts and non-arts industries and their personal lives. Students have access to college-level curriculum - on campus and through our local College Now partner Hunter College - that actively engage them in creativity and analysis.
